What is your educational background?

Have you been to [country] before?
If yes, mention when and why. If no, explain why now.
What places do you plan to visit?
Know your itinerary well. Show genuine interest.
How long do you plan to stay?
Match your answer with your application and flight bookings.
Who will you be traveling with?
Mention companions if any, or explain solo travel.
Who is sponsoring your trip?
Self-sponsored is best. If sponsored, explain relationship.
How much do you earn?
State your monthly/annual income confidently and honestly.
How will you fund your travel?
Mention savings, income, sponsorship clearly.
Can I see your bank statements?
Have them ready. Explain any large deposits/withdrawals.
What is your total travel budget?
Have a realistic estimate including flights, hotels, expenses.
Where will you stay?
Provide hotel booking details or host information.
Have you booked your flights?
Yes - show confirmation. No - explain you're waiting for visa.
What is your planned itinerary?
Know your day-by-day plan for major activities.
Do you have travel insurance?
Yes - mention coverage. If required, you must have it.
Why will you return to India?
Emphasize job, family, property, or other strong ties.
Do you own property in India?
If yes, mention it. Shows intent to return.
What about your job while you're away?
Explain leave approval and job security.
Do you have family in [country]?
Be honest. If yes, explain but emphasize your return plans.
Which countries have you visited before?
Mention all countries, especially developed nations.
Why didn't you stay longer on your last trip?
Show you respected visa conditions and returned on time.
Have you ever been denied a visa?
If yes, be honest and explain what changed since then.
Do you have a valid visa for any other country?
If yes, mention it. Shows trustworthiness.
(Tourist) What attractions interest you most?
Research and name specific places/experiences.
(Business) Who will you be meeting?
Have invitation letter and company details ready.
(Student) Why this university?
Explain your research and why this program fits your goals.
(Work) What will be your job role?
Know the job description and company details well.
What NOT to Do
- β Don't lie or exaggerate. It will likely be caught and result in automatic rejection.
- β Don't show immigration intent (desire to stay permanently) for tourist visas.
- β Don't be rude or argumentative with the visa officer.
- β Don't carry documents not requested or use your phone during the interview.
- β Don't mention plans to work on a tourist visa or study on a visitor visa.
- β Don't provide inconsistent information with your application form.
