Thailand continues to offer Indian passport holders visa-free entry for up to 60 days, making it one of the most accessible international destinations for Indian travelers.

How to Extend Your Stay

You can extend your 60-day visa-free stay by an additional 30 days:

  1. Visit any Thai Immigration office
  2. Complete Form TM.7
  3. Pay extension fee: ~โ‚น1,500 (THB 1,900)
  4. Get 30 more days

New: Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

Effective May 1, 2025, all tourists must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card online:

  • Fill out 72 hours before arrival
  • Completely free of charge
  • Required even for visa-exempt travelers
  • May be denied entry without it

Thailand e-Visa System

From January 2025, Thailand launched e-Visas for Indians:

  • Apply at: thaievisa.go.th
  • Processing time: ~14 working days
  • Useful for longer stays or work purposes

Entry Requirements

For visa-free entry, ensure you have:

  • Passport valid 6+ months
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Return/onward ticket
  • Sufficient funds (~THB 20,000 or โ‚น50,000)
  • Completed TDAC

Possible Future Changes

Thailandโ€™s Tourism Ministry has proposed reducing visa-free stays from 60 to 30 days for 93 countries including India. This is still under discussion and not yet implemented.
